      Deep Tissue

Massage, the act soft tissue manipulation by exerting pressure and movement to muscle tissue. Deep Tissue massage is therapeutic in its effects for reducing chronic pain, inflammation, and muscle recovery time. By addressing muscle tissue and fascial distortions with a deeper pressure, one can relieve muscle tension, increase joint mobility, relieve soreness and promote positive neuromuscular wellness. You will leave feeling a little tender but thoroughly decompressed.

      Pre-Natal

In this delicate state, pressures and tensions related to your nine month pregnancy evolution are addressed and soothed. Firm to light pressure with customized sessions based on individual needs, bolster and cradle moms to be in positions that are safe and pressure relieving. With side lying and face up positioning, mothers to be can still receive the benefits of their massage once out of the 1st trimester.

      Facia-Blasting

Used as a complimentary element in massage, fascia blasting breaks up facial distortions in focused areas of the body. Fast paced “scrubbing” with massage oil to an area of tension, can affect tremendous relief in connective tissues. Fascia blasting can help stimulate the production of nutrients, such as collagen and elastin, by enhancing blood flow to restricted areas of fascia that have adhered to muscle fibers and/or bony landmarks.

      Cupping

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy that works to address symptoms of pain that could be caused by stagnant blood and poor energy flow through your body. Cupping can be used in a dynamic or stationary way. Cups used in a dynamic way are dragged across the skin and removed shortly there after, creating a massage feeling from the pressure. Cups used in stationary way are meant for those more restrictive areas and are left suctioned for 1 to 3 minutes. Cupping lifts fascia thereby improving circulation and reducing tension. Cupping is a unique compliment to massage and most effective in conjunction with massage.

      Ashiatsu

Skilled footwork combined with deep, broad, and sustained strokes delivers a deeper massage than traditional hands on massage. This technique allows for the utilization of the practitioners weight, force of gravity, and careful use of overhead bars to create strokes with bare-feet that are deeper in compression for a tension easing experiences that promotes neuromuscular signaling for muscles to “let go”. Ashiatsu massage delivers a certain type of intensity that achieves myofascial release to enhance structural alignment when compared with other modalities of massage. Look forward to and feel confident about receiving the stronger pressure you have been missing.

    • About Me

"Physical touch is an expression of emotion, and you can always tell if a massage therapist cares." For going on fourteen years this has been my motto and personal reminder that serves as the foundation and inspiration for every massage session. Growing up as the youngest of eight, for me contact with others was simply unavoidable, and I believe wholeheartedly in the therapeutic and healing benefits of physical touch. From back-rubs to hugs, piling in the back seat, and piggyback rides, touch was huge part of my family's interaction. Now an adult (and part of a larger and ever-growing family) I have taken great care to develop a massage experience that is catered perfectly to you and draws on this fundamental approach to well being.

As a native Austinite, I began my career in massage therapy at The Texas Healing Arts Institute in 2006 initially as a means to fund my undergraduate degree in Political Science. Upon graduating from Texas State University (go Bobcats!) in 2010 and working at a local massage therapy company in town, I realized my calling lay more with my work of enhancing the wellbeing of others through my pursuit of massage therapy work. Since 2011, I have engaged in building a business that focuses on helping clients create positive changes in their bodies. Whether the focus is recovery, maintenance, or simply stress reduction, I want to engage with and aid my clients through the means of massage therapy for an overall increased wellness.

It's safe to assume that most would consider me to be a natural extrovert (who is of course always willing to share) and when I'm not taking care of my wonderful clients I make time for big family-style dinners, working out early in the morning, gardening, and my first true love ... the Dallas Cowboys.

"I have been getting deep tissue massage from Melinda for so many years that I can't remember when we started! She is the ultimate professional and has made a huge impact on my well being. I have had three back surgeries, and Melinda's massage has been a life-saver!"
      - Susan Lubin

"I highly recommend Melinda for her intuitive touch and ability to work out all the kinks and knots (you'll definitely feel the work). She uses different modalities and each session is adapted to what you need then (not just some routine that she checks through). I've also noticed that I get the best results if I can see her fairly regularly, so she can build on previous sessions and really put in good work. I'd recommend her if you really want a true massage that works on problem areas with a focus on long term relief or if you're looking for a sports massage too! She's the best!"
      - Andrew Chen

"Melinda has been my massage therapist for about a decade. When I travel and need a massage, I'm always disappointed as the other massage therapists don't hold a candle to Melinda and her technique. Over the years, I've done marathons, Ironmans and a variety of other endurance events. Melinda has been pivotal in keeping me injury free and speeding recovery. Pro tip: Ask her about the Cowboys football team (provided they're playing badly) if you want extra pressure :P"
